About Mobile Museums of Tolerance
**Mobile Museums of Tolerance (MMOT)** is an innovative outreach initiative from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, designed to promote messages of tolerance through advanced technology and interactive lessons. As the first of its kind in the United States, MMOT serves as a free mobile education center focused on combating antisemitism and various forms of hate. Based on the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, MMOT operates from a 30-seat, wheelchair-accessible vehicle, creating a self-contained classroom environment that travels directly to communities across Illinois and beyond.
Led by licensed educators, MMOT offers engaging workshops tailored for middle schools, high schools, colleges, libraries, and community centers. The curriculum addresses critical issues such as discrimination, propaganda, and the Holocaust, fostering a dialogue that promotes kindness, empathy, and understanding. Endorsed by the Illinois State Board of Education, these workshops empower participants to learn from the past and actively contribute to a future devoid of hate. Through meaningful partnerships and outreach efforts, MMOT is committed to educating the next generation about tolerance and human rights.
