Minnesota Newspaper Association

The Minnesota Newspaper Association (MNA) is a voluntary trade association representing general-interest newspapers and news organizations throughout Minnesota. It works on behalf of its members to advance the newspaper profession, support local journalism, defend the public’s right to know, and help news organizations serve their communities. MNA represents the newspaper press in the state legislature and in court, and provides resources to strengthen member organizations and improve the quality of Minnesota newspapers.

Its services include managing local, regional, and national newspaper advertising placement, operating a press release service, and offering statewide advertising networks and an ad placement service. Members can access public notice resources, advertising documents and guides, legislative resources, a legal hotline, job listings, and classified advertising. MNA also supports professional development and industry recognition through its annual convention and trade show, newspaper contests, press photo identification cards, and member communications. Through the Minnesota News Media Institute, the association provides additional opportunities for engagement and support. MNA is based in Minneapolis and offers membership resources for Minnesota’s newspaper community.
