Moccasin Joe Dist is a hunting-scent brand serving bow and firearm hunters, with roots on the West Coast dating to 1975. Founded by an avid bow hunter, the company focuses on helping hunters address game animals’ keen sense of smell through natural urine scents and attracting scents and lures. It says its urine scents are collected from its own animals and monitored for chronic wasting disease (CWD) since 1998, with no CWD reported. Its attracting products are synthetic, with additives intended to duplicate the fragrances of natural urine and estrus cycles.
The catalog includes natural urine scents and lures, triple-strength oil-masking scents, unscented wind and breeze detectors marketed as “Smoke in a Bottle,” a three-in-one fireless smoke-puff hunting product, and soaps designed to neutralize odors. The company packages its scents in gas-barrier plastic resin bottles, which it says help preserve product quality and contain odors without the drawbacks it associates with glass packaging. Moccasin Joe Dist is based in Hamilton, Montana, and sells its products through its online catalog.
