Modbar is a brand that offers a revolutionary approach to designing espresso machines. Their story begins with two bandmates, Corey Waldron and Aric Forbing, who recognized the disconnect between drink production and drink consumption in the coffee industry. Corey, a barista and roaster, understood the craft that went into each drink but felt it didn't always translate to the customer.
Teaming up with Aric, a machine pattern engineer, they developed a brand new way to design an espresso machine with the inner workings hidden beneath the counter. Recognizing the potential, Modbar caught the attention and support of La Marzocco, a renowned name in espresso machines. La Marzocco became an early investor in Modbar and now works closely with them in all aspects of the business.
Together, they have created a fully modular concept that allows customers to create their own custom bar flow. With the ability to interact and engage with customers, Modbar aims to help cafes create an open and dynamic environment. Through continuous progress and the incorporation of La Marzocco's expertise, Modbar has developed fully-functioning systems for espresso, steam, and pour-over.
