Modding Legacy is a small group of friends who have created Minecraft mods as a hobby since 2016. The team began by updating and reviving Aether Legacy for modern Minecraft, then brought back other older projects, including Good Night’s Sleep, The Farlanders and Nethercraft. Their approach aims to respect the originals while refreshing textures and adjusting gameplay for newer versions. Today, Modding Legacy also develops original content, led by Blue Skies, a survival mod featuring new dimensions, dungeons, mobs and bosses in light and dark settings.

The group’s projects span a wide range of Minecraft experiences and tools. They include Structure Gel, an API for generated structures; Dungeons Plus, which adds Vanilla+-style dungeons; and Lucent, a client-side dynamic lighting API. Other mods introduce features such as underwater scuba gear, a miner’s helmet with dynamic lighting, new enchantments, lava-dwelling monsters, additional Ender creatures, and classic configurable gameplay options. The team also offers an Aether multiplayer modpack and an addon restoring unused or concepted content.
