MO Deferred Comp is a retirement savings plan for Missouri state employees, including faculty and staff at 10 state universities. The plan helps participants save and invest during their careers to build additional monthly income for retirement. Contributions are deducted automatically from each paycheck, and participants can choose a percentage or flat-dollar amount, with the option to save on a pre-tax or Roth basis. An automatic increase feature can raise contributions annually.

Participants select investments from a custom lineup, including Missouri Target Date Funds designed to provide diversified portfolios. Those who do not choose an investment are placed in a target-date fund. New employees are automatically enrolled at a 1% contribution rate per paycheck.

MO Deferred Comp also offers financial education and practical account support. Participants can access calculators, educational materials, videos, webinars, seminars, newsletters, and online tools for managing accounts and generating statements. Financial Education Professionals serve regions and departments across the state and are available for individual guidance.
