ModelArchive is a scientific repository and archive for computational models of protein and other macromolecular structures that are not derived from experimental data. It complements the Protein Data Bank (PDB), which stores experimental structures, and PDB-IHM, which covers integrative structures. The resource is designed to support scientific reproducibility and encourage the reuse of structural models.
Researchers can deposit models along with a required minimum set of details about the modelling procedure and the expected accuracy of the results. Each deposited model receives a unique, stable accession code in the form of a DOI, allowing it to be cited and directly referenced in related manuscripts. ModelArchive is supported by the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and forms part of SIB’s portfolio of open databases and software tools.
It is also an ELIXIR Deposition Database within the ELIXIR infrastructure. The service provides search and deposit-related information, alongside help, contact details, and terms of use for researchers and other users exploring or citing computational structural data
