About MPS
Modelový parlament Slovenska (MPS) is an engaging project that organizes parliamentary-style conferences for high school students. Through various activities, participants have the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a parliament member, enhancing their debate skills, critical thinking, and understanding of current Slovak issues. At the MPS conference, attendees are divided into parties and committees.
They discuss current Slovak affairs and problems, focusing on proposing legislative solutions. Subsequently, they draft their proposed laws for a parliamentary session where they present and debate them. The conference concludes with awards for the most active participants.
The best proposals with potential for success in the real parliament are forwarded to members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
