About Modern Military Association of America
The Modern Military Association of America (MMAA) is the nation's largest organization representing LGBTQ+ service members, military spouses, veterans, their families, and allies. By merging the American Military Partner Association and OutServe-SLDN, MMAA has become a united voice for the LGBTQ+ military and veteran community. Their mission is to create a positive impact on the lives of modern military families through education, advocacy, and support.
MMAA is committed to ensuring that LGBTQ+ service members, veterans, and their families have the necessary resources and support they deserve in the service to our great country. Their work spans across various areas, including educating elected officials, providing culturally specific and trauma-informed resources through Rainbow Shield Certification, offering legal resources for discharge upgrades, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, and facilitating mutual support through their 80+ MMAA chapters. With a worldwide network of over 85,000 members and supporters, and through their LGBTQ+ advocacy programs, community support initiatives, and high-profile lawsuits fighting discrimination, MMAA continues to pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable military and veteran community
