Modern Music Learning

Modern Music Learning is a music school based in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore, offering an engaging and supportive way to learn music. Students can take lessons in piano, guitar, drums, bass, singing and ukulele, with one-on-one and group options. The school also lists programmes for children aged 4–7 and 7–11, alongside its wider lesson offerings.

Its teaching approach combines creative, gamified learning materials with practice logs, challenges and rewards to help students stay motivated and see their progress. Experienced musician tutors complete the school’s teacher training and ongoing professional development. Performance is an important part of the experience: each term includes Band Week, when students of different levels rehearse and perform together in rock bands, and students can also take part in local showcases.

Modern Music Learning aims to make lessons enjoyable while helping students build musical skills, confidence and friendships. The school operates from its Takapuna centre and offers introductory lessons and a holiday programme. Prospective families can contact the team or request a free information pack.
