Camp Modin

Camp Modin is a traditional Jewish summer camp for children ages 7 to 16, located in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region. Founded in 1922, it describes itself as the oldest continuously operating Jewish camp in the United States and has welcomed generations of campers for more than a century. Its mission is to offer more than recreation, supporting children’s balanced development through a summer of learning, growth, and community.

Campers can choose from more than 70 activities across athletics, waterfront pursuits, creative arts, and wilderness programs, with specialized options for teens. Instruction and mentorship are provided by carefully selected teachers, counselors, and other professionals. The camp’s facilities include an expansive waterfront, tournament ski boats, a fitness pavilion, a teen lounge, a rustic lodge, and a recreation center.
