Money Manifesto

Lance Cothern is a renowned brand that offers expert advice and guidance on all things related to personal finance, debt, and credit. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a wealth of knowledge and experience, Lance Cothern is dedicated to helping individuals make informed financial decisions. One of the key areas that Lance Cothern focuses on is finding the best place to buy cell phones in 2021.

He warns against the common mistake of heading straight to the obvious cell phone providers' stores, such as AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile, where you may not find the best deals. Instead, Lance advises you to start your search at Amazon, the go-to online retailer that offers a wide selection of phones and exclusive deals, even for non-Prime members. In addition to Amazon, Lance suggests exploring other online retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Sam's Club for competitive prices and potential specials.

He also recommends checking with your current cell phone carrier for any discounts they may offer. Lance Cothern emphasizes the importance of timing and highlights that significant sales occur when new phone generations are released or during the holiday season. Moreover, Lance provides invaluable tips for saving money on your cell phone bill by considering other carriers known as Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).

These MVNOs, which lease network usage from major providers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, often offer the same quality service at a lower price. When making a purchase, Lance advises considering the overall price, including any gift cards, discounts, sales tax, cash back, or promotions that may affect the final cost. He even suggests using a credit card for extended warranty protection or free cell phone insurance.

Lance Cothern's expertise and insights make him the go-to resource for anyone seeking the best deals and advice on purchasing a new cell phone. With his guidance, you can make an informed decision and save money in the process
