Montana Rx Card is a privately supported prescription assistance program that provides Montana residents with a free prescription savings card and coupons. The program helps people find discounts on brand-name and generic medications at participating pharmacies, with coupons available for immediate use. Its savings card is accepted at more than 68,000 pharmacies nationwide, making it useful beyond Montana as well.

Montana Rx Card uses lowest-price logic to determine the best available price for a prescription. Depending on the pharmacy’s pricing, savings may be based on a discount off the Average Wholesale Price, a discount off MAC pricing, or the pharmacy’s promotional or retail price. No personal information is required to get a coupon card, and users can receive coupons by text, email, or print.

The program also offers resources including medication pricing, a pharmacy locator, and options to customize or order bulk cards. It notes that the program is not insurance, is not affiliated with or funded by the government, and is not a Medicare prescription drug plan.
