Montana Society

The Montana Society is a story-driven educational and documentary initiative focused on recovery, personal growth, and transformation. Its docuseries follows a group of men in recovery as they work to repurpose an underground nuclear bunker in Paradise Valley, Montana. Guided by Dean Andersen, a serial entrepreneur and outdoorsman with decades in recovery, the crew tackles construction projects while building teamwork, purpose, and a new approach to life. The series presents recovery through real experiences, practical challenges, and a mix of encouragement and candid accountability.

The initiative also features 90 cinematic lessons and companion episodes exploring recovery principles, purpose, and change. Its broader work uses distinctive construction projects as catalysts for growth, sharing the idea that people can repurpose both painful experiences and neglected places into something meaningful. The Montana Society’s projects connect documentary storytelling with community and service. In 2026, executive producer Andersen and the production team are also undertaking 12 Principles Across America, a cross-country documentary journey linking recovery themes with American history, service, and human transformation.
