a Montero Butarque

Montero Butarque is a family-run funeral services provider in Leganés, Madrid, with roots dating back to 1901. Founded by Cesáreo Montero Leal, the business began as an artisan workshop making coffins and providing burial services. Over generations, it grew into a longstanding funeral company serving communities across southern and western Madrid. Since August 2019, Carlos Montero has continued the family’s work from the renovated Tanatorio de Butarque, with quality, respect and personal care at the heart of its approach.

The company provides comprehensive funeral services, supporting families from the initial arrangements through to the final procedures they request. Its professional team offers personalised guidance and helps families organise a farewell suited to their preferences and needs. The tanatorio has modern facilities designed for comfort, including halls, viewing rooms, outdoor areas, a chapel and a cafeteria. Montero Butarque emphasises honest, transparent service, dignity and close attention to families during difficult moments. Located on Paseo de la Ermita in Leganés, it can be contacted by telephone or email for assistance.
