Montessori Living

Montessori Living is a nature-centered, intergenerational campus in Kensington, Maryland, operated by Crossway Community Inc., a nonprofit organization. Its community brings children, adults, and elders together in thoughtfully designed spaces where Montessori principles support learning, daily life, and well-being across generations.

The Nature School offers Montessori education from infancy through the elementary years, with hands-on learning in prepared indoor and outdoor environments. Gardens, woodland areas, animals, and natural materials encourage exploration, independence, concentration, and responsibility. The Residences provide community-oriented apartment living for families, educators, caregivers, and others seeking a connected neighborhood, with shared gardens and gathering spaces.

Montessori Living also offers wellness programs through the Wellness Studio, powered by the National Center for Montessori and Aging. These include caregiver education, dementia support training, longevity learning experiences, and programs focused on healthy aging. The campus further provides event spaces for private gatherings, workshops, and meetings, alongside community events and learning opportunities. Together, these offerings create a setting where education, housing, wellness, and community life are closely connected.
