Monumental Women is a transformative nonprofit organization committed to enhancing women’s visibility in history through public art. Established in 2014, it aims to break the bronze ceiling by placing the first statue dedicated to real women in New York City's Central Park, which had historically featured over 150 statues but only five represented women. The organization's landmark achievement, the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument, honors three influential figures: Sojourner Truth, Susan B.
Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Unveiled on August 26, 2020, the monument is a tribute to their relentless fight for women's suffrage and human rights. In addition to its commemorative projects, Monumental Women engages in a nationwide education campaign to raise awareness about women's history, advocating for diverse tributes in public spaces across the country.
Through initiatives like the Talking Statues app and community engagement events, Monumental Women inspires future generations to connect with the legacies of these pioneers. Join their mission to reshape public discourse and celebrate the contributions of women in history
