Monument Meadow

Monument Meadow is an award-winning natural burial ground on a five-acre site in South Cheshire, near Farndon village. Set within the Barnston Estate, the meadow overlooks rolling countryside and the Clwydian Range, offering a peaceful setting for remembrance and visits. Its approach to burial is designed to be in tune with nature and gentle on the environment. Rather than using gravestones, the site features local trees, bulbs and wildflowers, creating a living memorial landscape that also supports local wildlife.

The ground offers natural burial and the scattering of ashes, with funeral arrangements tailored to the wishes of each family or the deceased. Monument Meadow welcomes people of all faiths and supports both religious and secular ceremonies, with guidance throughout the process. A purpose-built oak barn is available for ceremonies and shelter, alongside private off-road parking and designated disabled parking. There is no on-site toilet, water or electricity. Located at Chester Road, Farndon, the site serves local communities and visitors seeking a tranquil, nature-centred alternative to a conventional cemetery.
