Moonbattery is a political commentary website that presents itself as “A Stake Through the Heart of the Lunatic Left. ” Its posts, written by Dave Blount, criticize liberal politics, media, academia, government spending, and cultural trends from a strongly conservative perspective. The site publishes short opinion pieces and commentary on current events, often drawing on reports from other news outlets, public statements, and social media posts.

Topics in the supplied material include religious expression in the military, debates over race and public institutions, alleged federal spending fraud, crime, and political developments in France. Moonbattery also features an “Open Thread” for reader discussion and organizes articles under topical categories such as education, media, government, and cultural issues. Readers can search the site, browse newer or older posts, and respond through comments.

The content is polemical and frequently uses sarcasm to argue against progressive ideas and policies; it is commentary rather than a neutral news service
