About Moors Valley Railway
Moors Valley Railway offers an unforgettable steam train experience in the beautiful surroundings of Moors Valley Country Park. Operating on a 7 ¼” narrow gauge track, this authentic railway takes you on a scenic journey of just over a mile. The ride begins at Kingsmere Station and winds its way along the picturesque Moors Lake, passing through three tunnels, inclines, and a bridge before reaching Lakeside Station.
At Lakeside, you can explore the children’s play areas, enjoy a picnic, and feed the ducks. Grab refreshments from the kiosk offering cold drinks, sweets, and locally produced New Forest Ice Cream. The return trip takes you back alongside the lake, through a fourth tunnel, and the goods yard, bringing you back to Kingsmere Station.
Don't forget to visit the Gift Shop at Kingsmere, stocked with a wide range of souvenirs and model railway goods. With over 20 steam locomotives and 2 diesels, Moors Valley Railway has become a true pioneer in steam railway experiences.
