About Moray West
Moray West Offshore Wind Farm is a brand that is dedicated to delivering net zero carbon emissions for Scotland. Located in the Moray Firth, Scotland, the wind farm is a vital contributor to Scotland's renewable energy and climate change targets. The project is fully consented and is currently in the engineering development stage, with the aim of being operational in 2024/25.
Moray West is owned by EDP Renewables, ENGIE, and UAB Ignitis renewables. The brand is part of the Ocean Winds joint venture, which combines the offshore wind assets and project pipeline of both companies. With a strategic advantage, Moray West aims to play a leading role in the offshore market.
The joint venture has an ambitious goal of developing 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation or under construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development by 2025. They primarily target markets in Europe, the United States, and selected geographies in Asia. Throughout the development process, Moray West has been committed to working closely with communities, supply chains, and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to the local area.
