Moredun is a Scottish livestock health research institute and charitable group dedicated to improving animal health and welfare through research and education. Established by farmers in 1920, it works with farming communities and partners across veterinary practice, industry and government, keeping the needs of agriculture at the centre of its work. Recognised internationally for research into infectious diseases of farmed livestock, Moredun has helped develop vaccines, diagnostic tests and improved treatment strategies for animals worldwide.

Through its research institute and related organisations, Moredun offers contract research services, including livestock vaccine and therapeutic efficacy and safety studies across species. Its wider capabilities include aquaculture research, veterinary surveillance, biosafety testing, specialist services, immunological reagents and worm IgA testing. The organisation also shares practical knowledge through factsheets, disease information, training, events, newsletters and resources for farmers and vets. Membership of the Moredun Foundation supports research and provides access to livestock health information and community resources. Moredun also raises support for projects such as advancing a next-generation louping ill vaccine for UK sheep farmers.
