Morop

The European Union of Model Railroad and Railroad Fans, known as MOROP, is a prominent organization dedicated to promoting model railroading across Europe. Established in 1954, MOROP unites 19 national associations and boasts over 30,000 members from 16 European countries, including Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The main objective of MOROP is to develop and refine the Norms of European Model Railroads (NEM), ensuring a standardization that enhances the model railroading experience. A dedicated Technical Commission actively works to adapt these standards to the evolving technology within the hobby.

MOROP also hosts an annual congress each September, which serves as a platform for members to engage in technical discussions and establish future directives. The congress is open to everyone, whether members or not, and enriches the community with excursions and programs showcasing the surrounding railroading landscape. Through its initiatives, MOROP fosters a vibrant community for model railroad enthusiasts and contributes to the growth of this cherished hobby across Europe.
