Mosegaarden

Mosegaarden is a social-pedagogical residential home for children and young people who cannot live at home. Established in 2001, it is located in Egebjerg near Nykøbing Falster and welcomes residents aged 5 to 18 from across Denmark. With space for nine residents, Mosegaarden provides a small, home-like setting designed to support close relationships, continuity and a predictable daily routine.

The organisation offers residential care and social-pedagogical support, including placements for children who are voluntarily or compulsorily placed outside their family home. It has particular experience with long-term placements, children with difficult early life experiences, children without a diagnosis who need stability and care, and siblings who need to live together. Support is tailored to each child’s age, strengths and needs, with an emphasis on recognition, relationships, professional care and milieu therapy.

Mosegaarden works to support children’s wellbeing, development, schooling, leisure activities and growing independence. It collaborates with municipal caseworkers, other professionals and, where appropriate, biological families to help ensure care remains centred on each child’s needs.
