About Show-Me Hope Crisis Counseling Program
Show-Me Hope is Missouri's dedicated Crisis Counseling Program (CCP), established to provide immediate emotional support and resources in the aftermath of disasters and critical events. Operating since the 1970s, this community-based program offers free, confidential, and multilingual counseling services to individuals affected by both natural and human-caused disasters. The primary objective is to assist survivors in understanding their feelings, reducing stress, and promoting recovery through coping strategies and community connections.
The program distinguishes itself through its strengths-based approach, maintaining anonymity for clients, and delivering services directly in nontraditional settings such as homes, shelters, and places of worship.
