Mos Maiorum APS is a nonprofit cultural association based in Rome, dedicated to studying, reconstructing, and reenacting the ancient Roman world. Its work combines experimental archaeology, historical reconstruction, and living history, with a particular focus on the Roman Republic. Through research and practical exploration, the association seeks to bring aspects of Roman life and history to audiences in an engaging, historically informed way.
A central feature of Mos Maiorum’s activities is its representation of the Republican Roman legion, including its legionaries. The association also shares information through publications and presentations, and its website lists school-related activities, partners, and public events. Visitors can explore event information, photographs, and other materials that document its work and historical reenactments.
Mos Maiorum invites supporters to help sustain its activities through donations. Its name and motto reflect an interest in the customs and people of ancient Rome, while its overall approach connects historical study with reconstruction and public engagement.
