Mostly Modern Festival USA is a contemporary music festival and educational program operated by Mostly Modern Projects Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Led by Artistic Director and Composer-in-Residence Robert Paterson and Executive Director Victoria Paterson, the festival presents concerts and supports emerging musicians and living composers. Its programs include guest and resident ensembles, chamber concerts, a concerto competition, and events that bring performers and composers together.
The festival also runs the Mostly Modern Festival Institute in Saratoga Springs, New York. The institute offers artist faculty, fellowships and scholarships, and opportunities for international students, alongside ensemble preparation and other educational resources. Applications for the 2027 institute are scheduled to open in October 2026. The organization’s website provides information about current and past seasons, schedules, travel, accommodations, and applications, as well as videos and ways to donate or subscribe to updates. Mostly Modern Projects Inc. also encompasses Mostly Modern Festival in the Netherlands, Mostly Modern’s FAB5, American Modern Ensemble, and American Modern Recordings.
