MotherNet is a groundbreaking project that aims to develop a new network of researchers focusing on contemporary European motherhood. With funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, MotherNet is dedicated to understanding the complexities and narratives surrounding motherhood that have yet to be fully explored. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, MotherNet brings together experts from fields such as medicine, humanities, law, social studies, business studies, and media and cultural studies.

The project seeks to foster knowledge-sharing, skills development, and mentoring among researchers, with a particular emphasis on early-stage researchers. By creating a platform for cross-disciplinary engagement, MotherNet not only expands our understanding of motherhood in Europe today but also transforms the capacity of all contributors. MotherNet is a collaboration between Vilnius University (Lithuania), Uppsala University (Sweden), and the National University of Ireland Maynooth.
