Mothers in Science

Mothers in Science is a global nonprofit organization advocating for mothers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM). It works to advance workplace equity and the inclusion of caregivers through evidence-based solutions, while promoting a vision in which people can pursue professional goals alongside caregiving responsibilities. The organization gives mothers a voice and builds community through member stories, spotlights and networking opportunities.

Its programs and services include individual and institutional memberships, a mentoring program, global mentoring and networking events, career fairs, conferences and SciMom Chats webinars. These activities connect members with peers and experts and address topics such as returning to STEMM after a caregiving break. Mothers in Science also offers a Caregiver Travel Grant to support research professionals balancing caregiving with their careers. Its advocacy work includes initiatives such as Break the Bias, Fathers Who Care, an action plan for funding agencies, a global survey and an open letter. The organization shares impact reports, media and community updates, and invites supporters to subscribe to its newsletter or donate.
