Motion Festival is a free, four-day celebration held during Sydney Marathon week, bringing music, movement, food and community to Customs House Forecourt at Circular Quay from 27 to 30 August. Designed as a welcoming place to drop in or spend the day, the festival offers a lively harbour-side setting for runners, visitors and local audiences.

Its programme combines live music and DJ sets with shakeout runs, recovery sessions and other activities. The lineup features performers including Duan & Only, Kylie Fisher – The Piano Woman and Young Franco, alongside a range of artists and community events. Visitors can also take part in or watch activities such as the Smoking Ceremony and Dance Parade, meet members of the TCS Sydney Marathon broadcast team, and explore the Carb Food Fest.

A Recovery Hub and scheduled group runs add a wellness focus to the entertainment programme. With free entry and a published timetable, Motion Festival offers an accessible way to enjoy the energy of Sydney Marathon week in the heart of Circular Quay.
