Motorik-Kompagniet

Motorik-Kompagniet is a Danish service supporting babies, children and young people with sensory-motor challenges. Working across the Copenhagen metropolitan area, the organisation focuses on understanding why a child finds certain activities or situations difficult, rather than simply practising skills the child has not yet mastered. Its approach considers each child’s individual developmental stages and the foundations needed for wellbeing, movement, learning and everyday participation.

The main service is a sensory-motor assessment designed to identify possible underlying causes of a child’s challenges. Families receive a plan for motor training intended to support the child’s development and wellbeing. The organisation explains how primary senses, play and physical skills interact, and why sensory development can influence areas such as balance, concentration, social relationships and the ability to recognise personal needs.

Motorik-Kompagniet also offers parent groups for families on parental leave. It welcomes enquiries about concerns including sleep difficulties, sensitivity to touch, frequent falls, restlessness, focus, toileting and reluctance to explore.
