Mountain Hunters is a family-owned New Zealand hunting outfitter operated by Brent Moody and his family. With decades of full-time outfitting experience, the team offers guided trophy hunts across privately owned and leased properties covering more than 25,000 acres, as well as concessions in the Southern Alps. Its North Island lodge provides access to red stag, fallow deer, elk, Sika, Rusa and Sambar, alongside opportunities to hunt wild boar, Arapawa ram, Pacific goat and waterfowl.
South Island trips target tahr and chamois. Hunts are available with a rifle, bow or muzzleloader, including free-range wilderness options, and red stag packages start at $4,500. On the North Island estate, Mountain Hunters offers a hunt guarantee: if guests do not harvest the trophy they came for, the hunt package cost is refunded.
The lodge is near the Pacific coast and offers a relaxed family atmosphere. Non-hunters can join complimentary local sightseeing and day trips, with activities including wine tasting, golf, hiking, shopping and cultural experiences
