Mountain Skies Aviation

Mountain Skies Aviation provides personalized flight instruction in Montrose, Delta, San Miguel, and Routt counties, including Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Led by Sue Mosher, a Certified Flight Instructor with FAA Gold Seal recognition and commercial, instrument, and multi-engine credentials, the business helps new and experienced pilots build skills and confidence. Training is paced to each student, with practical demonstrations, clear explanations, and a supportive approach.

Services include introductory and family flights, private pilot training, instrument ratings and proficiency checks, commercial certificates, mountain flying instruction, rusty-pilot refreshers, flight reviews, and proficiency practice. Ground school covers FAA regulations, study materials, charts and mapping, aircraft systems, and cross-country planning. Students can prepare for written, oral, and practical exams while developing sound aeronautical judgment, navigation, and safety habits. Mountain Skies Aviation also offers advanced ratings through Pilots Knob Aviation. Instruction is available at hourly rates, with different pricing for flight training and ground instruction. Whether someone is discovering aviation, returning to the cockpit, or pursuing a professional path, the focus is on helping pilots progress at their own pace and achieve their goals.
