Mountains of the Sea

Mountains of the Sea is a big-wave surfing brand led by Nic Von Rupp, built around the ambition to push the limits of surfing and human performance. Its work is organized around two missions. The Nazaré Project focuses on tackling the powerful waves of Nazaré, which the team describes as its home and headquarters. The Exploration Mission travels to remote, less-explored locations in search of massive waves, with expeditions listed in Norway, Ireland, and Iceland.

The brand brings together accomplished big-wave surfers and emerging talent. Its Nazaré headquarters supports each mission with equipment preparation and storage, boards and jet skis, and recovery facilities including a sauna and cold plunge. Mountains of the Sea also offers experiences for people who want closer access to the sport. The Surf Club provides members with private events, behind-the-scenes access, privileged viewing, and proximity to athletes and operations. Surf sessions and big-wave experiences are also presented among its offerings, inviting visitors to engage with Nazaré’s surfing scene.
