Benedictine Sisters, founded on November 11, 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, is a community of over 80 women devoted to a communal life of prayer, work, and hospitality. Following the Rule of St. Benedict and the constitutions of the Monastic Congregation of St.

Scholastica, the sisters serve God's people in various ministries based on the needs of the community and their individual gifts. The brand traces its origins to Atchison, Kansas, where the seven Benedictine Sisters established St. Scholastica Academy upon their arrival.

This marked the beginning of a long history of educational opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds. Although the founding sisters were German-American, the community quickly embraced diversity, with women from different origins and ethnicities joining them. Today, Benedictine Sisters continues their mission under the leadership of Sister Esther Fangman, the current prioress.

In addition to their educational services, Benedictine Sisters also operate the Keeler Women's Center and the Sophia Spirituality Center, offering retreats, spiritual direction, and programs for personal growth. They are dedicated to caring for creation and promoting gospel justice. The brand relies on the support of donors, encouraging individuals to make donations and participate in the annual Night of Dreams event.
