The Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance (MOVCA) is a non-governmental, membership-based business association for organic agriculture and food products in the Republic of Moldova. Its members include producers, processors, exporters, consultants, retailers, active consumers, organizations other stakeholders. At the moment, MOVCA has 75 members. MOVCA’s members work together as allies through networking, advocacy, and other initiatives to encourage and protect organic farming practices and to share messages about the positive environmental and nutritional attributes of organic products with consumers, the media and policymakers.

About Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance
MOVCA is the leading organization in Moldova that supports and promotes organic agriculture. Our mission is to empower farmers and individuals committed to organic development throughout the country. We cover the entire organic value chain, from farming to marketing.
Organic farming offers a higher return on investment compared to conventional farming and is crucial for preserving Moldova's soil and growing conditions for future generations. It also provides sustainable livelihoods for rural communities. Founded in 2015, MOVCA was established by a group of passionate agricultural leaders who believed in the potential of organic farming.
We believe that organic practices are the best opportunity for Moldovan agriculture, improving soil quality and preserving land. Organic foods are not only healthier for consumers but also benefit the environment by reducing pollution and conserving water. MOVCA strongly believes in the importance of the organic agriculture value chain for the long-term sustainability of Moldovan farms.
Although organic farming currently represents a small portion of arable land in Moldova, we share the ambitious goal of increasing organic products to 25% of arable land by 2030. Our approach is nature-inspired, combining traditional practices with modern innovations to achieve sustainable and ecological balance. Through networking, education, and training, we support farmers in organic practices, certification, and accessing export markets.
