About Mover Plastic Free Sportswear
Mover Plastic Free Sportswear is a renowned brand that originated in Sweden in 1982. They were pioneers in introducing Gore-Tex® to their ski garments, establishing themselves as a leading high-tech ski apparel manufacturer. The brand was acquired by Swiss entrepreneur and avid skier Nicolas Rochat in 2004.
In an effort to reduce plastic waste, production was relocated from China to Europe and headquarters moved to Switzerland in 2006. Mover started replacing plastic fibers and nylon colors with merino wool in their clothing, gradually eliminating polyamide and polyester. In 2010, they collaborated with German fleece manufacturer, Baur Vliesstoffe, to develop swisswool®, an innovative insulation material made entirely of wool, replacing polyester and down waddings.
With their expertise in natural fabric integration, they have achieved optimal breathability and thermal regulation in their sports garments. In 2017, Mover switched from Gore-Tex® to weather-resistant Ventile® fabrics made of high-density woven cotton. Today, Mover is an independent, privately owned company based in Lausanne, Switzerland, specializing in producing plastic-free, thermal-regulating, and protective sportswear.
