MOVICA

Mo.V.I.Ca. (Movimento Campania per la Vita Indipendente delle Persone con Disabilità) is an association based in Ascea, in Italy’s Campania region, dedicated to promoting independent living for people with disabilities. Guided by the principle “Nothing about us without us,” it advocates for the rights, participation, dignity, and autonomy of disabled people. Its work draws on the principles of the European Network on Independent Living manifesto and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Mo.V.I.Ca. promotes and monitors independent-living initiatives across Campania, including local projects developed through a national programme launched in 2013. Through the AVIC – Agenzia Vita Indipendente Campania project, four agencies support people with physical and intellectual disabilities as they plan and pursue greater autonomy and independent lives. The association also shares news, information on relevant legislation, and updates about projects and events, helping people stay informed and engaged. Its initiatives include local AVIC branches and projects such as NAUWU and Spiaggia BETUABU.
