About Moving Anthropology
The Moving Anthropology Student Network (MASN) is an open, transnational community for people interested in anthropology and related topics. Founded in 2005, it describes itself as a meeting ground for communication, networking, and collaboration. “Student” is used broadly: postgraduate researchers, people currently studying, scholars, and those with a non-academic interest in anthropology are all welcome. The network has attracted members from more than 80 countries and supports connections across a wide range of fields, including medical, economic, psychological, queer, and media anthropology, as well as anthropology of migration, religion, organisations, and science.
MASN provides online tools for discussion and knowledge-sharing, including forums, thematic and regional groups, mailing-list participation, and shared information resources. Members are encouraged to organise meetings and workshops, contribute questions and answers, and take part in conferences to exchange ideas and develop their skills. The network has also held transnational conferences and coordination meetings, where participants plan future events and projects.
