About Moving Anthropology
The Moving Anthropology Student Network (MASN) is an open, transnational community and meeting place for people interested in anthropology. Founded in 2005, it welcomes students, postgraduate researchers, scholars, and people with a non-academic interest in the subject. MASN describes “student” broadly, emphasizing participation and shared interest rather than formal enrollment. Its purpose is to encourage communication, networking, and the exchange of knowledge across the anthropology community.
The network offers online spaces and resources for discussion and collaboration, including forums, thematic and regional groups, working groups, calendars, event information, and media galleries. Its subject areas range from medical, economic, psychological, and music anthropology to migration, religion, education, organisations, and science and technology studies. Members are invited to share questions and information, join conversations, and develop their skills through participation in conferences and meetings. They can also organise MASN gatherings, workshops, and projects, and use the mailing list to follow activities and discuss issues.
