About Monterey Peninsula Foundation | Monterey CA
Monterey Peninsula Foundation is a community-focused philanthropic organization that uses the proceeds from world-class golf events to support positive change across Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties. Founded on a tradition of golf and giving that began in 1937, its mission is to enhance quality of life in Monterey County and surrounding areas through the strategic distribution of charitable funds. The foundation hosts two signature competitions: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, an annual PGA TOUR event, and the PURE Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee, which brings together PGA TOUR Champions players, junior golfers, and amateur participants.
Their proceeds fund the foundation’s place-based grant program, supporting local nonprofits and a broad range of community needs. For 2024–25, the foundation reports distributing $17. 5 million to more than 200 local nonprofits across five focus areas.
It also encourages community participation through volunteering, ticket purchases, sponsorships, and donations. Guided by a commitment to learning and lasting impact, Monterey Peninsula Foundation works to help build safe, healthy, and thriving communities throughout the region
