About Mrembo Empowerment Community
Mrembo Empowerment Community (MEC) is a registered social enterprise dedicated to empowering victims of violence and poverty. Our mission is to provide the support and resources necessary for individuals to transform their lives and break the cycle of violence. We firmly believe that every person holds the power to achieve their potential, and it is our goal to help them realize it.
MEC offers a range of programs designed to address the unique needs of our community. Our Sexual Health and Counselling Programme (SEP) provides sexual education training, counseling, and mentorship to girls in primary and secondary schools. Through our Women Empowerment Programme (WEP), we offer counseling, vocational education, job placement, and asset transfer to young women striving to rebuild their lives after experiencing sexual violence.
Additionally, our Reproductive Health Programme (REP) provides counseling, training, and asset transfer to mothers in informal settlements. We are proud of our impact so far, including improving the performance of school girls, economically empowering graduates, and supporting women in slums with reproductive health education.
