Adventures With Purpose (AWP) is an underwater sonar search and recovery dive team that helps locate missing people and vehicles in lakes and rivers. Since 2019, the team reports solving 45 cases across five countries. Its searches are provided at no charge to families or law enforcement.

AWP begins each case by building a map from details about the missing person, including their last known location, intended destination, phone location data, and familiar routes. The team identifies places where a vehicle could have entered the water, then uses side-scan sonar to search broad areas and imaging technology to examine potential targets. Divers verify vehicles underwater and coordinate with local authorities on any recovery, following law enforcement’s direction and treating the work with care and respect.

The organization also shares case stories and information about its search process. Through its online store, AWP offers emergency window breakers, a training kit, fishing magnets, and branded apparel and accessories, including T-shirts, hoodies, hats, and stickers.
