Freestylecooking with Love is the personal food and lifestyle blog of Vanessa, born in 1982, who writes under the name Emily Shore. The site shares an adventurous, varied approach to home cooking, with straightforward recipes readers can make themselves. Emily often cooks intuitively and develops recipes from dishes she has created without a formal recipe.

Food content spans breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads and sweets, alongside Paleo recipes, seasonal ideas and explorations of wild plants, herbs and gardening. The blog also features restaurant visits, travel, events and book presentations, including cooking and nutrition titles. Beyond food, Emily writes about insulin resistance, weight management, mindfulness and healthy habits.

She shares her personal experience of insulin resistance, which she says she has been officially free of since 2020, and a 20-kilogram weight loss achieved without dieting or deprivation. She continues to focus on lifestyle choices and blood-sugar monitoring to help prevent its return. Readers can subscribe to email notifications about new posts and browse information about Emily’s books, press coverage and background.
