MRX Yachting operates a fleet of 11 identical, 10.3-metre, New Zealand-made racing yachts designed by Bruce Farr and based in Auckland. Built specifically for racing, the boats are used for national and international match racing, fleet and club racing, corporate events, sailing instruction, and major regattas. Available for charter, they offer participants the opportunity to experience competitive yacht racing on Waitematā Harbour. MRX Yachting also offers ownership shares, giving individuals the option to acquire a stake in a yacht within the fleet.
The fleet plays an important role in developing New Zealand keelboat sailors, several of whom have gone on to successful careers in elite sailing, including the America’s Cup and SailGP. Its activities include events and series such as the RNZYS Winter Series, weekly Rum Races, MRX Sprints, and Wednesday night racing organized by local yacht clubs. Through racing, charters, sailing opportunities, and shared ownership, MRX Yachting brings sailors and corporate groups together on the water.
