About Science and Industry Museum
The Science and Industry Museum in Manchester tells stories about ideas and innovations that have changed the world, from the Industrial Revolution to the present and beyond. Located on Liverpool Road, it explores the city’s role as the world’s first industrial city and its impact on science, engineering, transport and manufacturing. Its collection spans 250 years of discoveries and innovation, brought to life through objects, galleries and stories about the people and places behind them.
The museum offers exhibitions, interactive galleries, shows, workshops and activities for visitors of all ages. Its programme includes family events, early-years activities, gaming experiences and adult-only evenings, alongside the Manchester Science Festival. Schools and groups can arrange visits, and online resources include learning activities, family science content and recorded talks. The museum also has a shop selling toys, gifts and gadgets inspired by science and industry, as well as a café and spaces available for venue hire.
Admission is free, with donations welcome.
