About Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society
Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) is a state society formed by the Government of Meghalaya as the Nodal Agency for implementing the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) in the state. Registered under the Meghalaya Society Registration Act XII of 1983, MSRLS aims to establish a dedicated and sensitive support structure from the state to the sub-district level. The society focuses on building strong, self-managed institutions of the poor at different levels, providing a platform for collective action based on self-help and mutual cooperation.
The goal is to address the various dimensions of rural poverty by creating linkages with mainstream financial institutions and government departments. MSRLS offers programs and schemes that empower rural communities, such as the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana (MKSP), Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), and the NRLM. Their initiatives aim to uplift rural livelihoods, promote self-employment, and foster sustainable development in Meghalaya
