The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) is a government ministry of the Sultanate of Oman responsible for advancing the country’s transport, communications and information technology sectors. It oversees national infrastructure and projects, including ports and airports, that connect Oman with the world and support economic and urban development. Its mission is to develop advanced, secure and interconnected systems while promoting sustainability and contributing to Oman Vision 2040.

MTCIT’s work spans land and road transport, maritime affairs, logistics, ports, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital industry, digital transformation, governance and space. The ministry provides a broad range of public and sector-specific services, such as transport approvals, maritime complaint resolution, digital transformation consultancy, cybersecurity-related services and technical guidance. It also supports initiatives including the National Digital Economy Program and publishes legislation, standards, reports, statistics, policies and guidance for the sectors it oversees. Through its programs, services and infrastructure projects, MTCIT aims to strengthen connectivity, encourage innovation and improve quality of life across Oman.
