The Masonic Fishing Charity (MTSFC) is a UK registered charity that creates inclusive fishing and countryside experiences for people with special needs. Run entirely by volunteers, it organises coarse and fly-fishing events at fisheries across several regions of England and Wales. Participants are invited from special needs schools and centres, and include people who have experienced trauma, disadvantage, physical disabilities or challenging backgrounds.
MTSFC’s events offer more than a day outdoors: they provide opportunities to build confidence, try new challenges, interact with others and enjoy the achievement of catching fish. The charity also welcomes volunteers, including fishing casters and helpers, who support participants and contribute to the events. Taking part or volunteering is open to everyone; people do not need to be Freemasons.
Through its regional areas, event calendar and organisers, MTSFC coordinates activities and helps connect participants and volunteers with local opportunities. The charity also shares information through its website, gallery, newsletters and online merchandise shop, and invites donations to support its work.
