Muddy Paws by KC is a family-owned, in-home dog boarding service in Frederick, Maryland, offering a welcoming place for dogs to stay while their families are away. Founded in 2017 by Kelly Cox, the business grew from caring for friends’ and family members’ dogs into a service for dogs of many sizes, breeds, and backgrounds. Kelly, a nurse for 30 years, brings her love of dogs to creating a caring home-away-from-home experience.
The service provides home boarding, with drop-off and pick-up windows in the morning and afternoon. Guests can enjoy a yard with dog pools and a trampoline, and families receive photos and updates during their dog’s stay. Owners should bring their dog’s food; Muddy Paws provides the other items needed. Dogs must be socialized and comfortable with other dogs, and proof of rabies and bordetella vaccinations is required. Flea and tick prevention is strongly encouraged. New clients can email to arrange a meet-and-greet, while returning clients can book their next stay directly.
